The exchange that matters
Every kaiju shares the five skill keys and two roars. They do not share range or recovery. A useful first combo is one button that reaches, plus a way to leave after it misses. Long strings copied from another kaiju fail when the body, the cooldown, or the map changes.
Test on one target:
- Press the skill with no one nearby and watch whether you lunge, root, or keep moving.
- Step out until the same skill stops hitting. That edge is your range for this body.
- After a miss, count until you can walk or press another skill. That is the punish window you are giving away.
- Repeat above and below any bar the HUD shows. Ultima's Attack 1 and Attack 3 are officially different above 100.
Roars and slot 5
A roar locks attacks for the animation. Community notes call R stationary and T moving, with no combat buff attached. Use them when the fight is finished or when the island is quiet. Slot 5 is the usual ultimate. On Kiryu, Update 45's Absolute Zero Cannon is the extreme case: up to 3,750 damage and a 100-second cooldown. Pressing it early is how you spend the rest of the fight on four buttons.
Maps change the same kit
Open shoreline makes a long recovery easier for the other player to punish, and it makes your own ranged skill easier to see. Dense Tokyo blocks the camera on a large body and hides people between buildings. The San Francisco bridge funnels both of you into one approach. Practice the kit on open ground, then take the same two buttons into one street and one bridge fight before you decide the kaiju is weak.
What a tier letter cannot tell you
There is no official combat ranking. Godzilla Ultima's special effects are not a tier by themselves; they depend on whether you can hold the Attack bar and fill Utility. Biollante's published wide-area kit is a farming recommendation at 50,000 Cells, not a duel chart. The unlock board ranks how hard a kaiju is to obtain, and it says so on each row.
